Video to WAV converter
Take the sound out of a video as a WAV file: uncompressed, with no loss, ready for editing.
How it works
The video is read in this browser and its audio track is decoded. The picture is not used.
The sound is written as 16-bit PCM WAV at 44.1 kHz, keeping stereo or mono as the video has it.
Your files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded, and the converter runs entirely in your browser.
Questions
Why is the WAV file so large?
WAV stores the sound uncompressed. About 10 MB is a minute of stereo sound. Use MP3 if size matters more than the last bit of quality.
Is the sample rate kept?
The sound is resampled to 44.1 kHz, the usual rate for music and speech.
Are video files uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, on this device.
