OBJ to STL converter
Slicers such as Cura and PrusaSlicer take STL. Drop an OBJ and get one STL with every object in it, placed where the OBJ had it.
Accepts
OBJ 3D model (.obj, with its .mtl and textures). Other file types are not converted on this page.
How to convert
- Drop the .obj file. Its .mtl file is optional: STL has no colours or materials, so they are left out either way.
- Choose binary STL (small) or ASCII STL (text), and change the units if the slicer shows the part at the wrong size.
- After converting, the status line gives the triangle and vertex counts, the size, and what the new format could not hold.
Your files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded: the conversion runs in your browser, and the file is never sent to PartPriced Tools or to any other server.
Questions
Why is my part tiny or huge in the slicer?
STL has no unit, and slicers read the numbers as millimetres. If the OBJ was made in metres, choose Metres to millimetres (× 1000).
Are colours and textures kept?
No. STL holds only triangles, so materials, colours and textures are dropped, and the status line says so.
Are separate objects kept apart?
All objects go into one STL solid, in the positions they had in the OBJ.
