Turn an accepted quote into an invoice

No retyping: an accepted quote becomes a confirmed order in Orders or a draft invoice in Invoices, with the customer, lines, tax and notes copied and a link back to the quote.

Open Quotes

How to do it

  1. Open the quote in Quotes.
  2. Choose Make invoice for a draft invoice, or Make order to fulfil it from stock first.
  3. The quote is marked accepted and keeps a link to what it became.
  4. Open the invoice, check it and choose Issue… to give it its number.

Questions

Can I convert a quote twice?

No. A quote becomes one order or one invoice, once, so the same work cannot be billed twice by mistake.

Does the invoice get its number straight away?

No. It starts as a draft, so you can check it. The gapless number is taken when you issue it.

When does the quote reach my books?

A quote is never posted to the ledger. Only the invoice made from it is, when it is issued.
