Budget spreadsheet template
Start from a ready budget: income and expense lines for three months, with the totals and the monthly balance already worked out by formulas.
How to do it
- Open Spreadsheets and choose File, From template.
- Pick Budget and choose Use.
- Replace the sample lines with your own income and expenses. The totals and balance update as you type.
- Add rows for more categories; extend the SUM ranges if you add them below the totals.
- Save to Files, or Download XLSX to open it in Excel or Google Sheets.
The same dialog has other ready templates: an invoice, an inventory list, a timesheet, a project plan, a sales pipeline, an expense claim and a grade book.
Your files stay on this device: Spreadsheets runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.
Questions
Is the template really free?
Yes. It is built into Spreadsheets, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Will the formulas work in Excel?
Yes. The XLSX download keeps the formulas with their results, so Excel and Google Sheets calculate the same totals.
Can I save my own version as a template?
Yes. Choose File, Save as template, and it appears under My templates the next time.
Is my budget private?
Yes. It is saved in this browser only and never sent to a server.
