Timesheets guide
Getting started with Timesheets
Timesheets records the time you work, at an hourly rate, and bills the open hours to a customer on a draft invoice.
Log time
- Choose Log time.
- Type What you worked on, the Date and the Time worked, such as 1:30, 1.5, 90m or 2h 15m.
- Pick the Customer, and a Project if you like.
- Set the Hourly rate. Leave Billable ticked to bill the time, or untick it for internal time.
- Choose Save.
Or use the timer
On the Time tab, type what you are working on in the box at the top and choose Start timer. Choose Stop when you finish: the entry opens with the minutes filled in, ready to save.
The timer keeps running if you reload the page. The list below shows the entries for the Period you pick, with the total hours and the amount to bill.
Bill the hours
Each entry becomes one line on the invoice. Billed time is locked; void the invoice, or delete it while it is a draft, and the time is open again.
- Open the Bill tab.
- Pick the Customer. Their open hours are listed and ticked.
- Check the Tax rate %, untick anything you do not want to bill yet, and choose Make draft invoice.
- Open the draft in Invoices, check it and issue it.
