How to do it

1. Choose File > Open… and pick the .psd, or drop it on the page.
2. The Layers panel lists every layer with its name, opacity, blend mode and mask. Click the eye to hide or show one.
3. Edit if you like: move, paint, add adjustments or filters, or change the text you add with the Type tool.
4. Choose File > Export As… for a PNG, JPEG or WebP, or Export Layers as PNGs for one ZIP with a PNG per layer.
5. To keep the layers, choose Download as Photoshop (.psd).

Image Editor reads 8, 16 and 32-bit RGB, Grayscale and CMYK PSD files, with raw, RLE and ZIP compressed channels. Layer pixels, names, positions, opacity, visibility, blend modes, clipping, layer masks and guides come in. Layer groups are flattened into plain layers, and Photoshop text layers open as pixels.

Questions

Can I open a PSD without Photoshop?

Yes. Image Editor reads the PSD format itself, in your browser, so you only need a modern browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.

Will I see the separate layers?

Yes. Each layer keeps its name, position, opacity, blend mode, visibility and mask. Layer groups are flattened, so their layers appear as one flat list.

Are text layers and adjustment layers editable?

No. Photoshop text layers open as pixels, and adjustment layers, smart objects and layer effects come in as their stored pixels, without their settings.

How do I convert a PSD to PNG or JPG?

Open it and choose File > Export As…, then pick PNG, JPEG or WebP and a size. Quick Export as PNG saves a PNG in one step.

Does it open PSB files?

No. Large-document .psb files are refused with a message. Indexed and Lab colour PSDs are not supported either.
