Paste guide
Getting started with Paste
Paste keeps snippets of text, code and pictures in Files in this browser. There is no server: nothing you paste is uploaded.
Make a paste
Each paste saves as you type. The top bar says Saved to Files when it is done.
- Copy some text or code, then press Ctrl+V anywhere on the page outside a text box. It becomes a new paste.
- Or choose New paste (Ctrl+Alt+N) and type or paste into the box.
- For a picture, paste it the same way, or choose Image next to the search box and pick a file.
Name it and pick a language
Expires is a label only. It is saved with the paste, but nothing is deleted when the time passes.
- Type a title in Title (optional).
- Choose the Language: Plain text, JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, JSON or Markdown.
- The highlighted copy beside the text uses that language.
Copy, download or share
The link opens the paste only in this browser, because the paste is kept here. It does not work on another device.
- Choose Copy to put the text (or the picture, where the browser allows it) on the clipboard.
- Choose Download to save it as a file. Code gets the right extension, such as .js or .py.
- Choose Share link (Ctrl+Alt+L) to make a link to the paste, then Copy next to it.
Find and tidy your pastes
The list on the left shows the newest pastes first. Search titles and text with the search box, and use Ctrl+Alt+Down and Ctrl+Alt+Up to move through the list.
Right-click a paste in the list for Open paste, Copy, Download, Copy share link and Move to Trash…. Trash moves a paste to the Files Trash, where you can restore it.
