Make a zine
Start from an 8-page half-letter zine with facing pages, a story that flows from page to page and automatic page numbers. Drop in your words and pictures, then export a PDF.
How to do it
- Choose File > New from Template… and pick Zine.
- Place your text with File > Place… (.txt or .md): it flows through the threaded frames, and Autoflow adds pages when it runs over.
- Place pictures into frames and fit them with Fill Frame Proportionally.
- Use paragraph styles for headings and body text, and a master page for anything that repeats.
- Export PDF… to print, or Export PNG… to share the pages as pictures.
Your files stay on this device: Page Layout runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.
Questions
Does it print the pages in booklet order?
No. The PDF has the pages in reading order. Use your printer's booklet setting, or a print shop, to put them in folding order.
Can I add more pages?
Yes. Use Add Page or Insert Pages…, or let Autoflow Overset Text add them for a long story.
Is my zine saved?
Your work is saved in this browser as you go, and Save downloads a .slpress file you can open again.
