World Clock · free, in your browser
Online stopwatch and countdown timer
Start, lap and reset a stopwatch that shows tenths of a second, or set a countdown in minutes, minutes and seconds, or hours. Both run in your browser tab.
How to do it
- Open World Clock from this page: it starts on the Timers tab.
- Press Start to run the stopwatch, Lap to record a lap and Reset to clear it. Each lap shows the total and its split.
- For a countdown, type a length such as 5 (minutes), 4:30 or 1:05:00 and press Set, or pick 1, 5, 10 or 25 min.
- Press Start. At zero you get a Timer done message, and the tab title starts with (Done).
Your files stay on this device: World Clock runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.
Questions
Does the countdown make a sound?
No. When the time is up the page shows a Timer done message and puts (Done) in the tab title, so you can see it from another tab. There is no alarm sound.
Does it keep time in a background tab?
Yes. Both are worked out from the clock rather than by counting ticks, so they stay right while the tab is in the background.
Is it saved if I reload the page?
No. The stopwatch and the countdown live in the page and reset when you reload or close it.
What can I type for the countdown?
A number is minutes (5), one colon is minutes and seconds (4:30), and two colons are hours, minutes and seconds (1:05:00).
