Edit SVG files online

Open an icon, a logo or an illustration saved as SVG and change it like any vector drawing: move anchor points, recolour shapes, edit text, combine paths. Then save a clean SVG or export a PNG or PDF.

Open an SVG

How to do it

  1. Choose File > Open… and pick the .svg, drop it on the page, or paste SVG code.
  2. Select objects with the Selection tool (V), or single anchor points with Direct Selection (A).
  3. Change fill and stroke in the Properties and Swatches panels, and reorder in the Layers panel.
  4. Draw with the Pen (P), shapes or Type (T); combine shapes with Object > Pathfinder.
  5. Choose File > Save As… for an SVG, or File > Export for PNG, JPG or PDF.

Plain SVG files come in as editable groups, paths, shapes, text, images and linear and radial gradients. Clip paths are ignored and linked images are skipped, so check those after opening.

Your files stay on this device: Vector Editor runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.

Questions

Will my SVG stay editable?

Yes. Paths, shapes and text are turned into objects you can edit. A file saved by Vector Editor reopens exactly as you left it.

Can I export the SVG as PNG?

Yes. File > Export > Export as PNG… saves at 1×, 2× or 4×, with an optional transparent background.

Can it open .ai or PDF files?

No. Vector Editor opens SVG and places pictures (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP). It can export a PDF-compatible .ai, but not open one.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The SVG is read and edited in your browser, and work in progress is kept on this device.
