Convert SVG to PNG
Need an icon or logo as a PNG for a slide, an app store or a website? Open the SVG, pick a scale and download a crisp PNG, transparent where the SVG is.
How to do it
- Open the SVG with File > Open…, or drop it on the page.
- Use File > Document Setup… if you want a different canvas size first.
- Choose File > Export > Export as PNG… (Ctrl+Shift+E).
- Pick 1×, 2× or 4×, tick the transparent background if you want it, and export.

Questions
Will the PNG be transparent?
Yes, if you choose the transparent background in the export dialog. Otherwise the canvas colour is filled in.
How big will the PNG be?
The size of the document at 1×, or twice or four times that at 2× and 4×. Set the document size with Document Setup… for an exact pixel size.
Can I make a JPG or PDF instead?
Yes. File > Export also has Export as JPG… with a quality setting, and Export as PDF… with vector paths.
