Fill in a PDF form
Open a fillable PDF and every form field is listed beside the pages: type the answers, tick the boxes and choose from the lists, then download the filled form.
How to do it
- Drop the PDF form on the page.
- Open the Forms tool. Every field of the form is listed with the page it is on.
- Type into the text fields, tick the checkboxes and pick the dropdown and radio choices.
- Tick Flatten forms on download if the answers should become plain page content that cannot be changed.
- Choose Download to save the filled PDF.
Your files stay on this device: PDF Editor runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.
Questions
What if my PDF has no form fields?
Then the Forms tool says so. Use the Text tool in Edit page to type onto the page wherever you need, and download the PDF as usual.
What does flatten mean?
Flattening turns the filled fields into ordinary page content. The answers look the same but can no longer be edited, which suits a form you are sending off.
Which kinds of fields work?
Text fields (one line or several), checkboxes, dropdowns, list boxes and radio buttons in standard AcroForm PDFs.
Can I sign the form too?
Yes. Switch to the Sign tool, place your signature on the page, then download once with both the answers and the signature.
