Convert a 3D model to STL for printing
Slicers want STL. Drop a model from a game asset store, a scan or a design tool and get an STL with every part in place, ready to slice.
How to do it
- Drop the model file (OBJ, FBX, GLB, glTF, PLY, 3MF or DAE) on the converter.
- Choose To STL. Pick binary (small) or ASCII.
- Set the units so the slicer reads the size right: glTF and GLB models are in metres, so choose Metres to millimetres (× 1000).
- If the model lies on its back, choose Y up to Z up. Then download the STL.

Questions
Will colours and textures print?
No. STL holds only the shape. Colours, materials and textures are left out, and the status line lists them.
What about animated models?
The model is written in the pose it stands in, and the animations are left out.
Is the mesh made watertight?
No. The triangles are written as they are. A model with holes, such as many game models, may need repair in the slicer or a mesh tool.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, on your device.
